In the second round of the Premier-level event in Doha the “Top Five” team’s player Daria Kasatkina defeated top seed Angelique Kerber: 6-4 0-6 6-4.

One break in the third game was enough for Dasha to keep the lead in the opening set. Kerber played much better in the second set, not letting Dasha to win at least one game. In the decider Dasha won fours games in a row. Even though Kerber closed the gap to just one game, Dasha was able to clinch the victory.

“It’s my second year on the WTA Tour, so I have to grow up. It was a tough match especialy with all the rain delays. After 0-6 in the second set I took a toilet break. I just looked in the mirror and told myself a few words. And it helped”, – Dasha said during her on-court interview.

At the beginning of the year Dasha defeated the German, who was the current world No.1, at the tournament in Sidney.
