21-year-old Daniil Medvedev, a member of the Top Five’ team, reached his third ATP World Tour-level quarter-final this year.

In the first round in Marseille Daniil beat eighth seed Benoit Paire and defeated German Jan-Lennard Struff in the second round. Medvedev clinched both victories in the deciding-sets tie-breaks.

In the quarterfinals Daniel battled in another three-setter against fourth seed Lucas Pouille of France. After winning the opener, Daniel could not keep his advantage and unfortunately lost in the next two sets 6-4 1-6 4-6.

However, reaching the quarterfinals will allow Medvedev to return to the top-60 and set another career-high in the ATP Rankings on Monday.

Also Daniil is ranked No.2 in the race to Milan to qualify for the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals featuring the world’s top 21-and-Under singles players of the ATP World Tour season.
