The dream of winning her first Grand Slam at Wimbledon ended for Ons Jabeur. Although she won the first set (6-3) against Elena Rybakina, also a novice at this stage of the competition, she could not maintain her 1st set tennis level in the next two sets.
Indeed, Rybakina rediscovered her devastating weapon that has been her strength during the tournament: her serve. Ons had several opportunities during the second and third set to take her opponent’s serve but could never convert it.
Despite a remarkable level of play, Ons lost in 3 sets (6-3, 2-6, 2-6) and closed an exceptional season on grass: victory at Berlin WTA 500 and final at Wimbledon. On the way to new titles and awards Ons! Bravo!
