BIOGRAPHY

Born in New Zealand and raised in Switzerland with Chinese and Croatian heritage, Lulu is a powerful symbol representing universality and the acceptance of all cultures. Coached for many months by Vladimír Pláteník, Lulu has made tremendous progress, climbing nearly 150 places in the rankings at the start of 2024. At Wimbledon she reached the quarterfinals as a qualifier and became the first New Zealand woman to reach that stage in the Open Era. Her first round Wimbledon win over No.8 Zheng Qinwen marked her first Top 10 win, as well as her first completed victory over any Top 100 player, her first main draw win at a Grand Slam and first main draw win on grass.

She then went on to reach her first Tour level final in 2024 at WTA 500 Monterrey (l. Noskova) and was voted WTA Newcomer of the Year.
