Katerina Siniakova says she is thrilled to have been able to be the player who secured an 11th Fed Cup for the Czech Republic. Siniakova played the second singles rubber of the weekend against Alison Riske before opening up Sunday’s action against Sofia Kenin – securing wins in both that meant the final two matches were not required. “My first experience was really good and I was excited to get out onto the court and I’m really happy I could finish it with the win,” she said to media afterwards. “It was amazing and a great feeling – I’ll never forget it.» Siniakova’s match against Kenin was an epic, lasting almost four hours, ending in a 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 win for the Czech, who had to save two match points.
