History once again for Top Five Management athlete Ons Jabeur. The Tunisian star qualified yesterday night on the Arthur Ash Stadium for her second Grand Slam final, her a second in a row after Wimbledon 2022.
She defeated Caroline Garcia, who did not lose a single set during the tournament before yesterday semifinals, 6-1, 6-3 in 1 hour.
Ons reacted after her win: “It’s great! After Wimbledon [defeat in the final against Elena Rybakina], I was under a lot of pressure and I’m really relieved to have confirmed my results. The hard court season started a little bit bad, but I’m very happy to be in the final,” said the Tunisian.
By qualifying into the final, Jabeur became the first ever Arab or North African woman to reach the US Open final. She will face the WTA World No. 1 Iga Swiatek on Saturday to book her place for good in the history books of tennis.
Allez Ons !
