2020 has been special for Sofia Kenin: the world No. 4 was recently named WTA Player of the Year.
Honored by a jury of international media, the 22-year-old American truly broke through in the public eye by winning her maiden Grand Slam title in Melbourne earlier this year. At the beginning of March, the Moscow native won her second title of the year at the Open 6ème Sens in Lyon. Beaten in the third round at the US Open, the right-hander made it to the final at Roland Garros.
She was this season one of two players to reach the second week at all three Grand Slams in 2020 along with Petra Kvitova. She takes home her second personal WTA award as she won Most Improved Player award in 2019.
Congratulations on this great achievement and wonderful season, Sofia!
